Start Your Saturday With Movement: Join Us October 10

Every week presents another opportunity to make decisions that support our physical health, mental well-being, and overall quality of life. Sometimes those decisions involve major changes, but more often than not, meaningful progress comes from the small things we commit to doing consistently.

That's the foundation of One Step Walking Club.

We created this community around a simple idea: movement should be accessible, enjoyable, and something that people can incorporate into their everyday lives. You don't have to be an experienced walker, train for a marathon, or meet a particular fitness standard to participate. You simply have to be willing to show up.

This Saturday, October 10, we're gathering once again along the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Washington, DC, for our weekly community walk.

Saturday Walk Details

Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026
Meetup Time: 7:30 AM
Walk Begins: 7:45 AM
Meeting Location: 8th & Edgewood Streets NE, Washington, DC
Route: Metropolitan Branch Trail toward NoMA

Our walks are about more than accumulating steps. They're opportunities to build relationships, enjoy conversations, clear our minds, and create a routine that prioritizes our health.

Whether this is your first walk or your fiftieth, we encourage you to come out, invite someone, and participate at a pace that works for you.

Walking for a Greater Purpose

We're also looking ahead to Saturday, October 31, when Sonny Boy's 5th Annual 5K will take place along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail.

The event benefits Reading Partners, an organization dedicated to improving literacy outcomes for children. This year's fundraising goal is $50,000, and we encourage members of our walking community to participate, contribute, or help share the event with others.

One Step at a Time

The most important part of building a healthy routine isn't how quickly you move or how far you travel on any particular day. It's developing the willingness to keep showing up.

Every step matters, and every Saturday provides another opportunity to take one.

We hope to see you on the trail this weekend.

Fit in the fitness. Movement is the medicine.
